501st UK Garrison
The UK Garrison is part of the international 501st Legion, an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which t o operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work. In the last ten years and with the express permission of George Lucas’ empire, Lucas Film, the 501st UK Garrison has helped raise over £1million for children’s charities, attended over 2,000 events, granted over 50 wishes for very special children and brought smiles to the faces of countless more.
