"Diamonds Are Forever: Croydon Is So 2012!"

Croydon is delighted to be taking part in the New Year's Day Parade for the very first time in 2012 with its entry: "Diamonds Are Forever: Croydon is So 2012". The borough is represented by award-winning local arts group Club Soda, where local people with learning disabilities create music, theatre, film and spectacular street arts. Club Soda can’t wait to explore the theatrical side of Croydon and to present to the people of London and visitors to the city. Expect dazzle and glamour, and a world of wonder, sophistication and style from our Diamond Queen and their enchanted court, travelling in style through the streets of London in a chariot of hearts, diamonds and bubbles. The Parade entry reflects the borough’s diamond shape, Croydon’s optimism and forward-looking approach in 2012 and celebrates "Love Croydon", a campaign bringing together Croydon’s communities following the 2011 civil unrest. For Club Soda members, all local, Croydon is an exciting and optimistic place to live in 2012; it is great place to be celebrating Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and to enjoy the greatest show on earth, the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
