Before we introduce you to our impressive list of Patrons and Supporters and give you the opportunity to read their individual messages of goodwill, I should like to offer my own very considerable thanks to all of our hard working Patrons and Supporters.

Many of our leading Patrons have contributed enormously over the years to the development of the New Year's Day Parade and Festival London, and have helped to make it the enormously popular and successful event that it is today.  Thank you to all of them.

The heartiest of welcomes to this year's New Year’s Day Parade and Festival, which in spectacular style mark the start of one of the most momentous years in our city's history.

With the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the eyes of the world will turn to London. It is therefore highly appropriate to start this exciting year of celebrations with the New Year's Day Parade, where people come together from around the world, encapsulating the enthusiasm and creativity that make London such a wonderful place to live and visit.

Over the next twelve months we are planning an unprecedented variety of events, which will climax with a summer like no other. This will see twelve weeks of celebrations in every part of the capital, which run alongside the thrilling sporting action of the greatest show on earth and exemplify London's creativity, dynamism and optimism.

Here's to 2012 - a Happy New Year one and all.

London's New Year's Day Parade heralds the start of a fantastic year for the Capital as it hosts events for Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games.  I am confident that this year’s parade will be fantastic and I send my thanks and best wishes to all participants and spectators.  Enjoy today, and I urge you to give generously to support the many worthy charities nominated by the London Mayors.

I am delighted to offer my support once again to the New Year's Day Parade, which will provide such a spectacular start to the year in which London will be proud to host the Olympic Games! The Parade is also a very welcome fun-filled opportunity to raise much needed funds for various London based charities. My congratulations and thanks to all who have worked so hard to organise the Parde and ensure that it is a success - a wonderful event to be remembered with great gladness throughout the remainder of the year. May 2012 be a year of many blessings and abundant joy for everyone taking part in London's New Year's Day Parde.

Everything is happening in London this year: our Monarch's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympic Games and even a few knock-out competitions of Racing Demon.

The opening fanfare is this spectacular Parade. Let us enjoy it in every detail and let us be generous to the wonderful charities it supports.

 

We must not forget the exhausting but life enhancing work put into the event by thousands of people, largely unpaid and mostly in their teens.

 

They are an example to us all.

 

And may we all, spectators and performers alike, have a truly wondrous New Year.
