For the spectator London's New Year's Day Parade and Festival is a fabulous, thrilling, and exciting event.  Just imagine how much more fun and excitement you can have by taking part.  Imagine receiving the ecstatic appreciation of more than half a million people on the historic streets of Westminster - having your performance televised and broadcast by over 700 television stations around the world to an audience of nearly 220 million people.  Think of the satisfaction of being part of an event that raises tens of thousands of pounds for charity each year.

There are four categories of participation in London's New Year's Day Parade and Festival.

London Boroughs

One of the most important elements of the London Parade are the entries from London's Boroughs.  Every year each of London 's Boroughs is offered a position in the Parade to produce a presentation that represents something special or unique about the Borough or from the Borough.  All of these entries are judged in the 'London Borough' competition for which there are very substantial cash prizes which go to local London charities selected by the Boroughs Mayors.  If you believe that you have something to offer to your Borough that could form all or part of your Borough 's entry for the 2010 Parade then do please contact your Borough 's Mayor or send an e-mail to us here and we will link you up. Click here for the list of Mayoral contacts or if you want to send us an e-mail please send it to lizzie@londonparade.co.uk. 

 International participants

One of the very special things about London's Parade, since the very first event in 1987, has been the fabulous contribution of music and dance from overseas bands and performance ensembles.  The event is strictly invitational for all overseas musical and dance groups.  All groups who come from countries outside of the United Kingdom are offered one of the  world's finest educational Performance Tour as part of their participation in the Parade and Festival.  Full details of the award winning programme are available by Click here.  If you are an overseas performance group and would like to be considered further for participation in the London Parade and Festival in the future then please read the materials about the Performance Programme, and then send an e-mail requesting consideration for invitation to the event's Executive Director Bob Bone on

General participation

The London Parade is proud to present a unique and diverse display of entertaining, fascinating, and historic Parade entries.  If you have something that you would like to submit for entry into the Parade which you believe will embellish the Parade then please download our entry form which will be available in March. You can return the form to us either on line, via e-mail as an attachment to
