The Let's Help London Challenge has, since its inception in 1997, become one
of the event's most successful initiatives. It promotes London as a wonderfully
diverse and multicultural society, raises substantial funds for charity and also
enhances the parade content. It is a genuine "win win win" scheme that continues
to grow and develop. There have been many winners over the past seven years, with
several awards on offer each year. A summary of the winners and their entries is

This year we are bringing the magic of Covent Garden to the streets of Westminster, in association with the new owners of the Covent Garden Estate, Capital & Counties. Charles the Second and Nell Gwynne will lead our entry which will include the Sylvia Young Theatre School singing the songs from My Fair Lady and throughout you will be enthralled by stilt walkers, jugglers and other entertainers.
This year’s entry supports the Lord Mayor’s charity, Westminster MIND, looking after local vulnerable people suffering from forms of mental illness and helping those who wish to return to work.
Westminster wishes to thank all those who have contributed towards this year's Parade entry

The London Borough of Merton was 2006's top prize winning Parade entry. The
entry was themed on the Pleasures of Merton, paying particular attention to
Merton Abbey Mills - a vibrant cultural and entertainment centre and a
bustling weekend market.
The inspiring market is held on the banks of the river Wandle, which is home
to London's only working waterwheel, the Medieval Colour House and a host of
pretty stalls that are carrying on the traditions of the William Morris's
Arts and Craft movement that flourished there.

The City of Westminster’s West End at War Showcase pays tribute to the West End spirit which thrived even during the hardest of times. The peacetime celebrations are brought to life, on this 60th anniversary of WWII, with a recreation of a buzzing dance hall complete with jitterbuggers from the London Swing Dance Society and a sing-a-longa Vera Lynn medley with compliments of the Sylvia Young Theatre School. The floats are escorted by a cavalcade of period jeeps and vehicles from the War and Peace Show with the Real Dad's Army look-a-likes meeting and greeting the crowds.
